Fighting Racism and Hate
Racism and hate have had deeply corrosive effects on the foundations and functioning of Our democracy. Hate Has No Home Here

Help Make ‘Hate Has No Home Here’ a Reality in Delaware
What: A visible statement of our shared values, protecting the community by publicly standing against hate.
Who: Local organizations, faith communities, state and local elected officials, businesses, and individuals.
Why: Martin Luthur King said, “we must carve a tunnel of hope through the dark mountain”. Hate is an attack on a community’s health. We cannot fortify community values and safety without community voice. Our silence against the onslaught of hate will not protect us. A clear, public and unequivocal statement of shared values is vital. The time to carve this tunnel is now, before the darkness gains greater purchase.
How: Hanging banners and signs, including business window signs, yard signs, that say clearly and directly – hate has no home in our community. This project is simple and declarative. Its intent is to stand up against hate. Together.

About SOAH
Our Mission
Speak Out Against Hate (SOAH) has been formed for the express purpose of confronting and countering the rising tide of hate, wherever and whenever it exists in a direct, focused and ongoing manner. SOAH seeks to engage in this effort with all people of good faith; community leaders, businesses, elected officials, clergy, law enforcement personnel, young and old, regardless of color, creed, sexual orientation, national origin or religion. SOAH will speak out early, often and follow-up on the rising incidents and expressions of hate and join forces in this effort with all similarly motivated individuals and organizations. SOAH will insist that those in positions to execute policies and regulations speak out and develop strategies for legislation and policies to prevent this hateful and potentially destructive behavior. SOAH’s goal is to make “No hate here” a reality in Delaware. All who are against hate are welcome to join SOAH.
Unity
We unite various groups to share their experiences and perspectives, showcasing the strength found in diversity and collaboration. Together, we can promote harmony and understanding.
Prejudice
Through workshops and educational initiatives, we tackle social prejudices head-on, emphasizing the importance of empathy and mutual respect to create a more inclusive society.
Bigotry
Stopping bigotry begins with recognizing and challenging prejudice wherever it appears, even in subtle forms. Education, empathy, and open dialogue help break down the ignorance and fear that fuel discrimination. Each of us has the power—and the responsibility—to create a culture of respect, equality, and inclusion.
Our Why...Kindness, Love, Understanding, Peace, and Harmony
SOAH has held bi-monthly Community Meetings since its inception in October 2023, the purpose of which is to inform our attendees of efforts being made to address the societal and cultural divide that permeates and negatively impacts Sussex County, Delaware, and our Country generally.
